Description of the technology
OralPAS Pro® platform, is a solid-SMEDDS dosage form composed of peptide drug, solvent, co-solvent, and surfactant adsorbed onto granules by inert excipients. Once platform is exposed to the fluids of gastrointestinal (GI) tract, peptide drug, surfactant and co-solvent are released from granules, and then rapidly spontaneously emulsify to form very fine globules (size, 100-200 nm) which entrap peptide drug in the nanoemulsion droplet core to against enzyme degradation and to enhance permeability, resulting in improvement of peptide drugs absorption through oral administration.
